Transparent surface hardener

KOWAY-Hardener Liquid is a one-part, clear liquid based on sodium silicate to cure, harden and seal fresh or hardened concrete.

KOWAY-Hardener is using for horizontal old or new concrete surfaces, where a hard surface with light to moderate abrasion resistance is required e.g. warehouses, industrial plants, stores, shopping malls, parking structures, service stations, hangars etc. On concrete slabs where no specific curing efficiency or standards are required. Suitable for interior or exterior applications.

Surface Preparation

• Surfaces must be sound, open textured, clean, free from frost, laitance, surface water, oils, grease, coatings, all loosely adhering particles and other surface contaminants.
• If in doubt apply a test area first. For best results, concrete floors must be treated with KOWAY-Hardener Liquid at least 14 days after their placement or after the cement has had sufficient time to hydrate.
• The substrate must be prepared by suitable mechanical preparation techniques such as high-pressure water or abrasive blast cleaning equipment. All dust, dirt, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of the product, preferably by brush and / or vacuum.
•  Concrete surface must be dry for to achieve maximum permeability.

Application Method

•  Apply in a continuous film using a high volume, low pressure spray unit. To ensure maximum penetration, scrub material into the surface with a soft bristle broom or floor-scrubbing machine (min. 30 minutes), until material begins to gel and become slippery. Wet the material lightly with a water spray and rework it into the surface for another 10 – 20 minutes.
•  Usually spray (or roll) 01-02 coats depending on the surface or need of use. The second coat can be applied after 2-4 hours. In case of the location of concrete is porous or rough, it is necessary to spray (sweep or roll) second coat.
•  Need to wash the floor with clean water combined with scrubber, high pressure washer, wet vacuum cleaner … after the last sweep is finished (about 2 hours) to remove any excess material (KOWAY-Hardener liquid). If not, the concrete surface can close a layer of crystal when dry, changing the color of the floor.
•  If you want to create a relative gloss on the floor, you should re-surface the floor after scanning the last layer for about 24 hours with 800-1500 numbered plastic grinding machine or a ground polishing machine.
•  The solution is alkaline so when using it, wear protective gear to prevent it from sticking to your skin and eyes such as gloves and goggles … Change your clothes and wash your hands after completing work.

Curing

•  After spraying the coating to dry naturally, the curing time at 200C is about 24-hours.
•  In case of the room is closed, use a blower to accelerate the drying process.
